SDA3 - A Day In The Life
Daily Routines – Learning with Fun! ⏰🎒
Hello everyone! 👋 We start a new unit in our English class, and we are learning about daily routines and how to talk about them in English. 🚀
What Are Daily Routines?
Daily routines are the activities we do every day, like waking up, brushing our teeth, having breakfast, going to school, playing, and sleeping. We use the Present Simple tense to talk about them.
Key Vocabulary 🏫🍎
Here are some common actions we do every day:
- Wake up – I wake up at 7 o’clock.
- Brush my teeth – I brush my teeth in the morning.
- Have breakfast – I have toast for breakfast.
- Go to school – I go to school at 8 o’clock.
- Study – I study English at school.
- Have lunch – I have lunch at 1 p.m.
- Come back from school - I come back from school at 5 o'clock.
- Play – I play with my friends.
- Watch TV - I usually watch TV before dinner.
- Do homework – I do my homework in the afternoon.
- Have dinner – I have dinner at 8 p.m.
- Go to bed – I go to bed at 9 o’clock.
Using the Present Simple 📝
To talk about daily routines, we use the Present Simple.
📌 Examples:
✔️ I wake up at 7 o’clock.
✔️ She goes to school at 8 a.m. (Remember to add -s for he/she/it!)
✔️ We play football in the afternoon.
Adverbs of Frequency 🔄
We also use adverbs of frequency to say how often we do something:
- Always – I always brush my teeth.
- Usually – I usually wake up at 7 a.m.
- Sometimes – I sometimes play football after school.
- Never – I never go to bed late.
Telling the time 🕑
Final Project: My Daily Routine Schedule 🗓️✍️
At the end of the unit, each student will create their own daily routine schedule. 🎨📅 We will write and draw our activities for each day and present them to the class.
✨ Example:
🕖 7:00 – I wake up.
🍞 7:30 – I have breakfast.
🏫 8:00 – I go to school.
🎮 5:00 – I play video games.
🌙 9:00 – I go to bed.
